NICHOLS FINED FOR DRIVING CRIME

Actor AUSTIN NICHOLS has been fined $1,000 (GBP500) after pleading guilty to impaired driving. The 27-year-old Day After Tomorrow star was arrested in Jackson, Michigan last August (07) after police spotted him driving in the wrong direction down a one-way street at 2.30am. He was taken into custody after failing a sobriety test, but was released on bail shortly afterwards. After pleading guilty by mail on Thursday (03Jan07) to misdemeanor driving while visibly impaired, Nichols was let off with the fine.
