NEW YORK DOLL SYLVAIN BECAME TAXI DRIVER
NEW YORK DOLLS guitarist SYLVAIN SYLVAIN repeatedly fell victim to crime when he was forced to take a job as a taxi driver when the group disbanded in 1975. The rocker admits he was forced to take a variety of jobs, including driving a cab, and quickly found himself a target of crime. He says, "Since we split I've played music, worked in fashion, done what I could to get by. "I even drove a cab in New York City. I got robbed three times. Once was by a woman." The legendary punk band recently reformed with just two members of the original line-up left - Sylvain and frontman DAVID JOHANSEN. Sylvain admits money was partly the reason the New York Dolls reunited: "I needed the damn bucks."
