NEW YORK CITY SHUTS DOWN FOR FLATS SINGER
RASCAL FLATTS rocker GARY LEVOX's birthday celebrations brought New York City to a standstill on Friday (10Jul09) - when the band's free concert was halted so hundreds of fans could pay homage to the singer.
Devotees began lining up at Manhattan's Rockefeller Plaza from 5am to catch a glimpse of the country trio, whose concert was aired live on America's Today Show.
The band thrilled the audience with renditions of their hits, but LeVox got a rush of his own when producers presented the 39 year old with a cake in between sets and the roaring crowd began to sing 'Happy Birthday'.
Thanking fans he said, "We couldn't pick a better place to have it."
