NETTLES' WORRIES ABOUT THROAT PROBLEMS
Singer JENNIFER NETTLES was devastated at having to pull out of several SUGARLAND shows last month (Jul09) - but feared she would lose her voice if she carried on performing.
Nettles, one half of the country duo, was struck down with an ongoing throat problem - forcing her and guitarist Kristian Bush to scrap five planned shows on their U.S. tour.
She says, "It's very scary. Because you think, 'All right, I can go out there and I can do tomorrow but I may not do the rest of the year if I do tomorrow.' And that is terrifying. And that is when you say, 'Wait a minute. Let's pull back.'"
Nettles, who is now fighting fit, was disappointed that some fans felt let down by the cancellations - but admits that Internet comments about the duo made her realise how loved the group is.
She adds, "At the end of the day, it also says, well, we have something that people really want. And sometimes they want it more... than I have to give."
