NEESON BECOMES U.S. CITIZEN AFTER RICHARDSON'S DEATH

LIAM NEESON was so moved by well wishers in the U.S. after the death of his wife NATASHA RICHARDSON, he applied to become an American citizen.
The Northern Ireland-born actor was left devastated when his partner died following a skiing accident in Montreal, Canada in March (09).
And he was so overwhelmed by the kind condolences he received while Stateside, he decided to finally make the country his home.
He told Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America, "I've been living here for 20 years and America's been very very good to me. I'm still a proud Irishman, of course, but I've become an American citizen. I'm very, very proud of that."
Neeson confirmed he is still receiving touching letters from people in America, which have been helping him and the couple's two sons grieve the tragedy.
He added, "To be honest, we are taking each day as it comes."
