NE-YO AND MOTHER THRILLED AFTER GRAMMY NODS

R+B star NE-YO has yet to speak to his mother after receiving six Grammy nominations - because he knows she'll be weeping uncontrollably with excitement.
The singer was stunned after it was announced on Wednesday (03Dec08) he was up for six of the prestigious gongs, including one for Best Album for his LP, Year Of The Gentleman.
And although his mother has been repeatedly calling him, he has refused to pick up the phone.
He tells MTV.com, "My mom has been blowing me up (calling incessantly)! I'm not gonna call her back right now, because I know she's gonna cry!"
And the Closer hitmaker, who won a Grammy this year (08) for Best Contemporary R+B Album, is convinced his mother is already clearing room in her house for six more statuettes - because she likes to put his awards on a spinning pedestal.
He adds: "My mom, she took the first one (I won). Guess she's gonna have to call the guy that built that (pedestal) and get six more!"
The 51st Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will take place at Los Angeles' Staples Center on 8 February 2009.
