NAVARRO SEPARATES HIMSELF FROM CONTESTANTS
DAVE NAVARRO has toughened up for the latest installment of his reality talent competition ROCK STAR: SUPERNOVA after allegations he was too nice to contestants during the show's first season. The series follows the search for a vocalist to join a new rock band being formed by ex-MOTLEY CRUE drummer TOMMY LEE, former METALLICA bassist JASON NEWSTED and one-time GUNS N' ROSES guitarist GILBEY CLARKE. Navarro claims he became too friendly with contestants last season and allowed his personal feelings to influence his judging duties. The rocker insists he is harder this season saying, "You know, what it is to be perfectly honest with you, last season I hung out with the contestants quite a bit and I really got to know them as people. "When you're sitting there trying to judge them and you have a personal relationship with them, it's very difficult to be very critical. "This season what I do is I stay as far away from them as possible. I don't want to get emotionally connected and then have to tell them they suck!"
