Rap star KELIS was thrilled when 100 friends and family, including husband NAS and pal MACY GRAY, gathered to celebrate her 27th birthday in New York City. Nas surprised his wife last Monday (21AUG06) with a new blue-grey Sports Utility Vehicle with a vanity licence plate that said PWRMATTRS. After driving her new gift over to the Meatpacking District club Double Seven, Kelis and her husband danced to her new album, KELIS WAS HERE, which was released at midnight. The singer was shocked when another surprise followed - good friend MACY GRAY brought out a cake and serenaded her with HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
