NAOMI CAMPBELL BAILED AFTER ARREST AT HEATHROW AIRPORT
Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been released on bail after being arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer on Thursday.
Ms Campbell, 37, was arrested at Heathrow Airport's new Terminal 5 after an alleged incident on a British Airways plane.
A Heathrow spokesman said yesterday: "I can confirm that a passenger on board a British Airways flight was removed by police."
According to Ms Campbell's spokeswoman, Annabel Fox, the incident occurred after the model was informed that one of the two bags that she had checked in had been lost.
"Naomi was flying to Los Angeles for a memorial service on Thursday," Ms Fox said.
"She arrived at Heathrow Terminal 5 in plenty of time, checked her two bags in and was told they would make the flight.
"Once on the plane she was told one bag could not be found and was missing.
"BA decided to resolve this by insisting she leave the flight and then called the police to forcibly eject her from the flight.
"She was taken to the Heathrow police station and released on police bail. So far as we are aware BA [British Airways] have still failed to offer any explanation as to why her bag went missing at Terminal 5."
It is alleged that the famous model was acting in an aggressive and abusive manner towards airline staff and was handcuffed by police before being escorted off the plane.
Last year Ms Campbell was sentenced to community service in New York after being convicted of assault.
As punishment for throwing a mobile phone at her maid the model was made to clean toilets and sweep floors for five days.

I think that Naomi was provoked. The airline conveniently lost her luggage. They
knew that she would be very upset. I feel that it is the airline responsibility
to ensure that everyone's luggage reach it's proper destination.
If this was a Caucasian woman, the airline would have been much more understanding.
