MYSTERY JETS SPARK VIOLENCE AT U.K. FESTIVAL

British rockers THE MYSTERY JETS sparked violent scenes at a U.K. music festival after their late on-stage arrival meant they could only play a fraction of their scheduled set.
The group were expected to play a 30-minute set at the Leeds Festival, England on Sunday (24Aug08), but failed to arrive on-stage in time.
After being told by a festival technician that they only had a short five minute slot to fill, the angry rockers reportedly lashed out by smashing their microphones into the stage.
The band had to be escorted from the stage by security staff, sparking festival revellers to boo and throw bottles at festival personnel, according to Gigwise.com.
Guitarist William Rees-Moog encouraged their fans, telling the crowd, "That's pretty f**king outrageous. Why doesn't the person who organises Leeds festival come down here now and we'll have a word."
