MYSTERY EMERGENCY FORCES HAGGARD TO PULL OUT OF TV TAPING

MERLE HAGGARD has left fans guessing after pulling out of a TV taping with old pal GEORGE JONES due to "unforeseen circumstances." The pair were to set to perform tracks from their new duets album KICKIN' OUT THE FOOTLIGHTS... AGAIN for US cable network CMT's CROSS COUNTRY show last night (09AUG06). But Haggard forced producers to postpone the taping in Nashville, Tennessee at the last minute when he announced he had to dash home to California. The Haggard and Jones Cross Country episode will now be taped at a later date.
