MUSIC PHOTOGRAPHER CLAXTON DIES

Renowned celebrity photographer WILLIAM CLAXTON has died aged 80.
The celebrated snapper, who is best known for his work with jazz musicians in the 1960s, died from heart complications at a Los Angeles hospital on Saturday (11Oct08).
Throughout his long career, Claxton photographed Bob Dylan, Steve MCQueen, Joni Mitchell and Tom Jones.
Claxton also helped found the Grammy Awards - working with others to establish the organisation that runs the annual ceremony.
In 2003, Claxton won the Lucie award for music photography at the International Photography Awards.
He is survived by his wife, former model Peggie Moffitt, and a son, Christopher.
