MURRAY EXPLAINS MISSING COURT DATE

MICHAEL JACKSON's personal physician DR. CONRAD MURRAY has spoken out about his recent missed court date - insisting his absence was an "oversight."
The doctor, who is currently under investigation over the death of the King of Pop, was expected to show up at a Las Vegas Family Law court last week (07Oct09) to attend a hearing over child support.
He was due to answer allegations he owes Nenita Malibirian, the mother of his son, more than $13,000 (£8,670) in payments.
Murray did not show up for the hearing and a judge is expected to issue a bench warrant for his arrest if he does not report to court before the end of the week (ends19Oct09).
But the medic's lawyer, Chris Aaron, insists he didn't mean to miss the case and his legal team is currently attempting to work out a "temporary resolution" with the District Attorney's office, according to TMZ.com.
Aaron says, "It was not intentional missing his court date - it was simply an oversight. Dr. Murray has every intention of resolving and taking care of his personal responsibilities."
Investigators looking into Jackson's death have focused their case on Murray, who stands accused of administering the powerful prescription drug Propofol to the superstar prior to his death on 25 June (09).
Los Angeles authorities have yet to file any charges against Murray over the tragedy, which was ruled a homicide in August (09).
