MRAZ IS A RECORD BREAKER
Pop star JASON MRAZ has joined the BLACK EYED PEAS in the record books after smashing a U.S. pop chart longevity milestone on the same day the band claimed a 20th consecutive week at number one.
The Peas' I Gotta Feeling has claimed an eighth week atop the Billboard Hot 100, which adding to the 12 week number one run for their previous hit Boom Boom Pow gives them a 20-week consecutive stint at the front of the countdown.
The group has been number one in America since 9 April (09).
Meanwhile, Mraz has broken Leann Rimes' 10-year-old record for the longest run on the chart with one single - his I'm Yours hit has been on the Hot 100 countdown for a staggering 70 weeks - and it's still in the top 30.
The song debuted on the 3 May, 2008, countdown and peaked at number six last September (08).
Rimes' How Do I Live spent 69 weeks on the Hot 100 in 1997 and 1998.
Thrilled Mraz says, "I'm blown away, humbled by the success of my happy little hippie song."
