Mr. Hudson is thrilled to have Kanye West as a fan and supporter because he has helped launch his career in the US

Mr Hudson says having Kanye West as a fan is like having his "wedding and birthday rolled into one".

The singer - who is signed to Kanye's G.O.O.D. Music label and duetted with the rapper on hit track 'Supernova' - is thrilled to have earned the respect of the hip-hop star for his musical talents.

He said: "For Kanye to say, 'Hudson is a dope producer', and to be producing for Estelle and for her to love the track, that means a lot to me. It's like my kids and wedding and birthday and funeral rolled into one, that's what it means. That's why musicians aren't as thick skinned as they'd like to be when they read horrible reviews!"

Mr Hudson - who also worked with Jay-Z on 'Young Forever', which features on his album 'The Blueprint 3' - admits Kanye's support has helped his career massively and launched him in the US.

The pop star - real name Ben Hudson - told website MusicOMH: "He has helped me musically and socially! When I'm in America I'm Mr Hudson - I'm that guy, on those records, and it's a bigger deal. I was in New York when 'The Blueprint 3' leaked, and people kept calling me up and it was like a reverence. I was like, 'I haven't even put a record out here yet!' "
