MOYER'S NEAR MISS WITH VAMPIRE ROLE

Actor STEPHEN MOYER almost missed out on his role in hit U.S. show TRUE BLOOD - because he was reluctant to leave his native Britain.
The 40 year old has mainly worked in the U.K. in order to stay close to his two children, Billy and Lilac, from previous relationships.
But when Moyer's manager told him about a script for a new vampire series, he couldn't resist flying out to Los Angeles for a screen test - and landed the part.
He tells Britain's Red magazine, "Finally, she said, 'Look, I've got one script and it is the script that everyone is talking about. And they can't cast the lead.'
"I read it and I knew that night I'd go put myself on tape first thing in the morning."
