MOS DEF HITS OUT AT U.S. INVOLVEMENT IN IRAQ

Rapper MOS DEF has blasted U.S. President GEORGE W. BUSH for his administration's "murderously meddlesome" involvement in the war in Iraq. The campaigning hip-hop star - real name Dante Terrell Smith - believes Bush has deliberately tried to turn the American population against the Islamic religion. He tells U.S. TV host Bill Maher, "The way that this government has pursued its foreign interests has been meddlesome, murderously meddlesome... "This administration and this government has sought to suppress everyone (other countries), and no one has sought to suppress America in quite the same way. No one has even had the ambition. "People want to be America’s friend. People want to get along. 'Send me some movies. Send me some Levi’s. Will you hang out with me?'... "This is not about the Muslim or the Christian. The division of Democrat/Republican, Muslim/Christian... black/white, it’s all bulls**t. "Because the bottom line is that Islam is not the threat, is not a problem."
