MORRISSEY BOYCOTTS BACK CATALOGUE RELEASE

British rocker MORRISSEY has begged fans to boycott his latest release - because he will not receive any royalties from the record.
The former Smiths frontman's back catalogue of solo singles is being released in a special edition boxset, set to hit stores in November (09), and will feature two collections - The 7" Singles '88 - '91 and The HMV/Parlophone Singles '91 -'95.
But Morrissey has called on his fans not to buy the albums - because he will not benefit financially from them.
A statement from the star says, "Morrissey receives no royalty payments from EMI for any back catalogue, and has not received a royalty from EMI since 1992."
And he also slammed a previous re-release of Smiths tracks: "Morrissey also does not approve of, and was not consulted on, the Rhino box of Smiths CDs, or the Warner releases of Smiths LPs on 180 gramme vinyl.
"Morrissey last received a royalty payment from Warners ten years ago, and, once again, he would ask people not to bother buying the reissued LPs or CDs."
It's not the first time the star has asked fans to boycott his work - last year (08) he urged his followers not to buy a DVD of one of his live shows.
Morrissey claimed the Live at The Hollywood Bowl footage was released without his permission and he would receive no royalties from the sales.
