MORRISON CHANGED NAME FOR SINGING CAREER
British chart-topper JAMES MORRISON changed his name when he became a singer, but he insists he was not inspired by late THE DOORS frontman JIM MORRISON. The UNDISCOVERED singer/songwriter was born JAMES CATCHPOLE, but he decided to use his middle name - Morrison - when he took to the stage. He says, "I get jokes about my name - about being the new Jim Morrison. I don't care, though, as I don't like The Doors and James Morrison isn't even my name - it's James Catchpole and Morrison is my middle name. "But I hate my surname and it's not great for the music world." Morrison is currently number one on the UK albums chart with his debut LP.

So he doesn't like Jim? How can someone even say that...He doesn't even
appreciate what built rock music. If he's claiming to even be a rock artist.
Which is completely stupid.
Yeah, you don't like Jim Morrison. Iguess it is the in thing to say, but who
the heck are you ? I dont think you will have any kind of effect on music like
Jim morrison of the Doors did...You are just a wann-be coppier, trying to use a
dead mans name to get recognition. You dont like the Doors ? what a bunch of
lies..you are using them...why not admit it. Your music sure don't do
anything..
