MOORE'S HALF LIGHT HOPES DASHED
DEMI MOORE's hopes for a return to Hollywood stardom have been dashed after new movie HALF LIGHT failed to secure a cinema release in the US. The ex-wife of BRUCE WILLIS had been told appearing in the British supernatural film would do for her what THE OTHERS did for NICOLE KIDMAN. But the GHOST actress is heartbroken at the snub in her homeland, and the movie made a paltry GBP51,300 ($92,300) during its three weeks in British cinemas. A British film industry insider tells The Independent newspaper, "It's a total stinker, probably the box office turkey of the year so far." In 2004 director SIMON FRANKS said, "Demi's hoping this will have the same effect on her career as (The Others) did on Nicole Kidman's."
