MOORE WROTE LIFE STORY AT DAWN

JAMES BOND star SIR ROGER MOORE had to pen his life story in the early hours of the morning - because anecdotes he had trouble recalling would come to him in his sleep.
The forgetful movie star had to think back more than 30 years to his 007 debut in Live and Let Die in 1973 when she started writing his memoirs, My Word Is My Bond - and he often struggled to remember magical moments.
He admits he often woke in the middle of the night and remembered an amusing anecdote from his past - but he'd forget it by the morning.
He reveals it was such a "slog" to recall all the details that he fell into a routine of getting up early every day and working on his manuscript at dawn.
Sir Roger tells WENN, "Sometimes it was easy, sometimes it wasn't. The thing that really drove me mad was I would wake up at three in the morning with an idea and (think) 'Ah, I remember that, yes, my God, I did that' and then go back to sleep happy and content that I'd thought of something new. I'd wake up (later) and I'd forgotten completely what it was.
"I found that writing between five and eight in the morning was the best time in the world because the phone does not ring and you have no distractions, apart from dustbin vans reversing and things like that."
Moore's autobiography is released in the U.K. this week (beg29Sep08).
