MONTY PYTHON STARS REUNITE AT MUSICAL PREMIERE
The stars of classic TV sketch show MONTY PYTHON'S FLYING CIRCUS reunited last night (17OCT06) to attend the UK premiere of their hit musical SPAMALOT. The song-and-dance extravaganza, based on the Python's 1975 film MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, has already won three Tony awards after a successful run on Broadway, New York. Despite the huge acclaim however, writer ERIC IDLE confessed he was "a little nervous" at the London opening. TERRY JONES added, "It is a very emotional moment. I hope I will be able to survive the emotional shock of it all." JOHN CLEESE was the only surviving member of the comedy troupe not present at the star-studded event - he is currently filming in Australia - but fellow Python MICHAEL PALIN welcomed the chance to catch up with his other castmates. He said, "It's one of the few times when we can actually talk to each other, make a few jokes, and count up the money."
