MONICA RECALLS TROUBLED LIFE TO HELP FANS

R+B singer MONICA hopes her new album will give troubled fans the strength to battle through their problems, because the personal disc is based on her diaries. The BOY IS MINE star used her own experiences as an inspiration during the recording of THE MAKINGS OF ME. Her boyfriend JARVIS 'KNOT' WEEMS committed suicide in 2000 by shooting himself in front of her, while another boyfriend COREY 'C-MURDER' MILLER was imprisoned for the 2002 killing of Louisiana teenager STEVE THOMAS. Miller has since been released and is currently on house arrest awaiting a second trial. And although it was uncomfortable at first, Monica decided to bring her diaries into the studio. She says, "I had to tell my story. There are too many people who have been in the same situation as me and really don't know their way out. Hopefully through my words, what I say can open a door."
