MOLDY PEACHES ROCKER WRITES BROADWAY MUSICAL
MOLDY PEACHES rocker ADAM GREEN is writing a Broadway musical about a homeless dog.
The play is based on Paul Auster's novella Timbuktu, which is told through the eyes of a dog on the streets of Baltimore, Maryland with his dying homeless owner.
Green reveals his influences are "West Side Story and Jacques Brel" but hints he won't be dropping his trademark rock sound - made famous on the soundtrack to movie Juno.
He says, "What's wrong with rock songs onstage?"
Green's former bandmate Kimya Dawson is also working on a soundtrack - she has been commissioned to write music for kids TV show Sesame Street.
