MOBY'S POOR STREET PERFORMANCE

Dance star MOBY hit the streets of west London on Monday evening (28Jan08) to put on an impromptu sidewalk show for fans - but his turn as a street performer only earned him $10 (GBP5) in tips. The Honey hitmaker - real name Richard Melville Hall - was joined by singer Joy Malcolm in the British capital's Sloane Square for a performance of his greatest hits. But the 40-minute set, which was filmed as a stunt for British TV programme The Culture Show, didn't prove to be a money-maker for Moby. He says, "At the most I was given maybe GBP5 or GBP6, but that's fine because I was obviously not doing it for the money. "When I was at university I used to busk (perform on the streets) all the time to make money to buy liquor."
