MOBY 'ASPIRED TO BE SCIENTIST'
MOBY has confessed that he had aspirations to be a scientist before forging his musical career.
The New York-born musician whose 1999 album PLAY went on to sell five million copies said he was seriously considering a life of science in his younger years.
However, his musical epiphany came in the form of THE SEX PISTOLS, which inspired him to pick up the guitar.
"Up until I was 13, I wanted to be a scientist. Any type of scientist would have been good," he told Bang Showbiz.
"After 13, I really wanted to be a guitar player. I saw a Sid Vicious video and it scared me so much I decided to form a punk rock band."
The eclectic musician also revealed that he wishes he had written Donna Summer's 1970s disco classic I Feel Love, which he described as "platonic and dirty at the same time".
Elsewhere, MOBY is set appear alongside ALICE COOPER and IGGY POP in a new vampire film called SUCK.
