MIRREN DENIES 'CHEAP SHOT' AT THE QUEEN
DAME HELEN MIRREN has slammed criticisms a bedroom scene in her controversial new movie is a "cheap shot" at British monarch QUEEN ELIZABETH II. The PRIME SUSPECT star plays the royal in upcoming film THE QUEEN, which depicts her emotional turmoil following the tragic death of DIANA, PRINCESS OF WALES in a car accident in 1997. Although it is based on factual events, critics singled out one scene in which Mirren is woken in bed by a maid as evidence producers have elaborated the story. Mirren retorts, "I'm in curlers with a hot water bottle. "Details of her private life are exposed, but the film is not a cheap shot or sensationalised."
