MILLS FELT LIKE 'TRAPPED ANIMAL'

HEATHER MILLS has appeared in court to give evidence against a British photographer who she claims assaulted her. The estranged wife of Beatles legend Sir Paul MCCartney accuses snapper Jay Kaycappa, 31, of grabbing her shoulder in an attempt to take her photograph in a Brighton subway, England in July 2006. The Dancing with the Stars performer told Brighton Magistrates' Court on Thursday (21Jun07) the incident left her feeling like "a trapped animal". Prosecutor Dale Sullivan said: "Since Ms Mills-MCCartney and her estranged husband announced their split it would appear that members of the press have followed Ms MCCartney and waited near her home. "The crown say one particular photographer has been particularly persistent in following her around." Giving evidence, Mills told the court, "I panicked and thought I'll go back the other way and that's when I turned round and saw Mr Kaycappa. "I felt concerned... because I had one there and one there and I felt like a trapped animal so I turned into the wall to get on my phone." The freelance photographer, from Hampshire, denies the charge.
