MILLIONS TO WATCH X FACTOR FINAL

Up to 15 million people are expected to watch the final of X Factor tonight.

Bookmakers favourite Alexandra Burke will go up against boyband JLS and teenager Eoghan Quingg in the ITV talent show at 19:10 GMT, with the results due to be announced shortly before 22:00 GMT.

As part of the final the contenders will perform a duet with well-known pop acts, with rumours suggesting that Beyonce, Westlife and Boyzone could all appear on the show tonight.

The winner of this year's competition will also release a cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah in time for Christmas.

Judge Simon Cowell has said that winning the £1 million recording contract this year is even more important due to the global economic downturn.

And asked if he was going to sign any of the losing contestants, Cowell said: "I'm not going to make any decisions at this time.

"I think under the current climate I would say it was more important to win the show this year than any other year. Like every other business the record business is tougher than it was last year."
