MILLER PERFECTED SPEED CYCLING FOR OBREE BIOPIC

British actor JONNY LEE MILLER became a fitness freak while training to play cyclist Graeme Obree in new film THE FLYING SCOTSMAN - because he didn't want to look foolish in a skin suit. The Trainspotting star admits he has always taken care of his health but nothing could prepare him for the regime of a speed cycling champion. He says, "If I had turned up looking really out of shape dressed in that skin suit that would've looked really rubbish and a lot embarrassing. It's good motivation to do your sit-ups. "I just spent a lot of time on a bike, changed my diet a bit. I do a lot of running as well so I tried to do more of that. "Also I visited the National Velodrome in Manchester and had a few training sessions there just to know the little things about track riding as well, track etiquette and how it's done. I picked up little tips here and there. "If you're not going fast enough the bike slides off, so I fell off the bike a couple of times. There were times when I was really tired and I just could not go fast enough. It was brutal."
