Pop superstar GEORGE MICHAEL is being lined up for a cameo appearance in British soap opera CORONATION STREET, after meeting the show's cast backstage at his concert in Manchester, England on Friday (17NOV06). The FREEDOM singer was invited to attend a guided tour of the soap's set later this week (ends24NOV06) and is set to follow in SIR IAN MCKELLEN's footsteps by making a guest appearance. A show insider tells British newspaper the Daily Mirror, "George is a massive soap fan. He is glued to them when he is not working and records them when he is away. "He was over the moon to be asked. He will definitely be going to meet everyone this week."
