MEXICAN MOVIEMAKERS SCORE BIG WITH FIVE-FILM DEAL
Mexico's `three amigos' of the movies, ALFONSO CUARON, GUILLERMO DEL TORO and ALEJANDRO GONZALEZ INARRITU, have landed a new five-film deal with Universal Pictures.
The Latino trio has formed a new production partnership, cha cha cha and the unique venture will partner with Universal for financing, international sales and distribution.
All three filmmakers will direct projects for cha cha cha, while Cuaron's brother Carlos will also submit a movie.
The Mexicans were all double Oscar nominees this year (07) - for the films, Pan's Labyrinth, Babel and Children of Men.
