METALLICA EMBRACE ITUNES

Rockers METALLICA have finally ended their iTunes holdout and are letting the online music store sell some of the band's records. The first single-song Metallica sale on the Apple site took place on Tuesday (25JUL06), but so far their download tracks will be limited to the US and Canada. Metallica albums have previously been available for download via other online services including MSN Music, but never sold as individual tracks. Now the group's first four albums - KILL 'EM ALL, RIDE THE LIGHTNING, "MASTER OF PUPPETS and ...AND JUSTICE FOR ALL - have been broken down alongside previously unreleased live tracks recorded in Seattle in 1989. The rockers write on their website, "We chose these four because, unlike the more recent releases, we were only capable of writing 8-9 songs for each of these albums." Other artists who have yet to reach an agreement with iTunes include the BEATLES, LED ZEPPELIN, RADIOHEAD and GARTH BROOKS.
