MESSING CONFUSED BY RECREATING MALIBU IN AUSTRALIA

Former WILL + GRACE star DEBRA MESSING is being forced to spend three months in Australia to shoot a new miniseries, based in her own Malibu, California backyard. The actress had hoped the project, STARTER WIFE, would allow her to spend more time at home in California, but was told she'd be shooting the six-hour miniseries Down Under. She says, "That tells you about the economy here (in Hollywood). "I was like, 'Yes, I'll be able to sleep in my own bed,' and they're like, 'Oh yeah, but PS, Malibu is going to be Australia, 17 hours, you're going to go over there. I was just dumb. I just assumed it was going to be shot in Malibu."
