MELLENCAMP PROTESTS MCCAIN CAMPAIGN SONGS

Rocker JOHN MELLENCAMP has reached out to Republican presidential candidate JOHN MCCAIN in a bid to prevent the U.S. senator from using his songs on the campaign trail. Mellencamp, a fervent Democrat, is distressed to hear his tunes Our Country and Pink Houses are being used as Republican anthems at MCCain rallies. And now the singer-songwriter's aides have asked MCCain to refrain from using the songs, according to Rolling Stone magazine.
