MEESTER TO RECORD AN ALBUM

GOSSIP GIRL star LEIGHTON MEESTER is moving from the small screen to the recording studio - the actress is writing her first album.
Meester, who plays Blair Waldorf in the hit TV drama, has always enjoyed singing - and is now planning to show off her vocal abilities on her debut disc.
She says, "I've always done (music) - just now I am actually doing an album that I plan to release."
And the 22-year-old insists she plans to exercise full creative control over the project: "It's so cool because it's a completely different creative process (to acting). From beginning to end it's yours and you make it.
"You can see the finished product. It's sometimes hard when you're acting to be like, 'Oh, I see the finished product right before my eyes.' So it's cool you're there from start to finish when you are writing."
