MEEK TOOK A SHOT AT JONES
Welsh singer TOM JONES was once shot at by legendary music producer JOE MEEK - because his band was performing Meek's tracks so badly.
Jones rose to fame as frontman for The Senators in the 1960s, and the band was recording songs with Meek at his London studio when the notoriously volatile producer snapped.
He stormed into the recording booth and demanded: "Play it how I want it!" then fired off a round - sending the terrified musicians diving for cover.
The Senators' bassist Vernon Hopkins says, "We were doing a session and Meek came storming in yelling that we were doing it wrong. Suddenly he aims a pistol at us and fires it - bang! We all scattered but it turned out to have just been a starting pistol. However, we did whatever he wanted after that!"
