Unlike many of its competitors, Marvel Entertainment reported a marvelous first quarter Tuesday, as sales from DVDs and consumer products for Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk boosted revenue 75 percent to $197 million, of which $44.5 million was recorded as profit. Word of the company's results -- which beat analysts' expectations -- sent shares of the company soaring 6.2 percent on Tuesday to close at $33.02, a 7-month high.
