MEAT LOAF DEVASTATED BY NO-SHOW
American rock singer Meat Loaf cancelled a concert in Birmingham last night, days after walking off the stage halfway through a gig in Newcastle.
The 60-year-old had been due to perform at Birmingham's NEC but pulled out after being diagnosed with acute laryngitis.
Earlier this week he stunned fans by leaving a concert at the Metro Radio Arena after 70 minutes.
"Performing for my fans is the most important thing in the world to me. Over the years, I've gone on stage with a broken foot and an arrhythmic heart," Meat Loaf real name Marvin Lee Aday said.
"It was devastating having to come off stage in Newcastle but over time, I've reluctantly learned that I have to abide by what the doctors tell me to do."
The organisers of the NEC concert have confirmed that all tickets will be valid for the re-arranged gig on Thursday November 29th.
"We are sorry that Meat Loaf is unwell, and unable to perform - and understand that his fans will be disappointed," a statement said.
"As a venue we want our visitors to enjoy their experience at any concert or event, but cancellations such as these are beyond our control."
Meat Loaf is due to play the MEN Arena in Manchester and London's Wembley Arena before heading to Scandinavia as his Three Bats Tour continues.

at least birmingham was cancelled they have a rescedualled show newcastle had
70 mins of him singing not to good and then nothing no refund no other concert
nothing i think birmingham had it better than we did
I am very sorry that Meatloaf is ill and was unable to perform in Birmingham at
the NEC, but if he truly respected his fans he would have cancelled earlier
instead of allowing people to leave work early, sit in the friday rush hour
traffic, arrange babysitters etc only to arrive at the NEC to be told he had
cancelled 15 mins before the doors were due to open and to go home! He knew
he was ill - he had already cancelled last week and lets face it laringitis
doesn't just creep up on you! I won't be going to the rescheduled event - he
might cancel again at the last minute. I wish him a speedy recovery but advise
him to give his fans a bit more thought please!
