MCTIERNAN TO TAKE OVER CONAN FRANCHISE?
PREDATOR director JOHN MCTIERNAN has given CONAN fans a boost by reportedly signing on to revamp the '80s fantasy action franchise. MCTiernan will take charge of long-awaited sequel King Conan once his legal woes are over. The Die Hard director was sentenced to serve four months in a federal prison earlier this year (07) after pleading guilty to making false statements to investigators. He later attempted to retract his plea. MCTiernan's free on bail while he appeals his conviction in a case tied to celebrity private investigator Anthony Pelicano. Website AintItCool.com reports 300 star Gerard Butler could replace Arnold Schwarzenegger as the new Conan in King Conan. Schwarzenegger played the movie warrior in 1981's Conan The Barbarian and its 1984 sequel Conan The Destroyer.
