MCQUEEN'S WIDOW: 'PEOPLE SAW ME AS A TROPHY AFTER STEVE DIED'
STEVE MCQUEEN's widow BARBARA was harassed by men after her husband died because they saw her as a "trophy on their mantlepiece".
Model Barbara met the Great Escape star in the late 70s, and became his third wife in 1980, less than a year before his death from hemochromatosis.
And she says after his death she was hassled by men determined to get to know her because of her famous husband.
Speaking at her Steve MCQueen - Photographs From The Last Mile exhibition in London, she says, "People saw me as a trophy on their mantlepiece. Lots of men asked me out - but you just look at them and know they are arseholes.
"I got that from Steve. He could spot fools."
