MCKAGAN DEFENDS HIS FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
Rocker-turned-financial journalist DUFF MCKAGAN has fired back at critics who have accused him of lacking the knowledge to write a money column for Playboy magazine.
The Velvet Revolver bassist was hired by the raunchy men's magazine for an undisclosed sum to write a column aimed at exposing corrupt money-making scandals on Wall Street.
Critics have doubted MCKagan's expertise, insisting the musician doesn't have enough business savvy to provide financial guidance.
But the bassist - who graduated from Seattle University with a degree in finance in the 1990s - insists he's equally entitled as other talking heads to take on the new job, because he can provide honest insight as a music insider.
In his first column on Playboy.com, he writes, "Those boneheads on TV just want to make themselves come off as smart anyway… hoping to maybe score some p**sy that they didn’t get in their youth! I hope to shed some no-nonsense light on day-to-day money issues. In these days of financial woe, we can all use a little help."
