MCGREGOR AND EJIOFOR TO STAR IN OTHELLO

Scots actor EWAN MCGREGOR is set to play the villain Iago in the London stage production of WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE's tragedy OTHELLO. MCGregor will star alongside Kinky Boots star Chiwetel Ejiofor (Othello) and Mrs Henderson Presents beauty Kelly Reilly (Desdemona) at the Donmar Warehouse in December (07). Donmar theatre director Michael Grandage says, "Iago has become a byword for manipulation, particularly in politics. You know, some people can act being nice. With Ewan, it's genuine. "The whole point of people being duped by Iago is that they don't notice he isn't nice. He really has to be genuinely charming and charismatic, so all these people get taken in."
