ROSE MCGOWAN's mother was thrilled with the actress' hippie-style costume in new movie GRINDHOUSE because it reminded her of the outfits she used to hate as a child. The actress hated her mother's style when she was younger and now she's being forced to embrace it in her new QUENTIN TARANTINO film. She grumbles, "I was like, 'Why did Quentin come up with that - just to torture me?' My mother was like, 'I knew that would get back to you one day.' "When I was little I would hide in the wheel well of the VW bug she drove us to school in, so no one would see me. "Everyone else had their station wagons, and she would yell out the window, 'Rose MCGowan's in this car.' I would be mortified." The actress admits she was never comfortable with her mother's hippie lifestyle - even when the family lived in a commune. She adds, "I think this is just some weird hippie karma coming back at me. I always knew they were out to get me."
