MCFLY HIT OUT AT WESTLIFE COVERS
British boy band MCFLY have dismissed the idea of following in the footsteps of Irish pop group WESTLIFE and recording other people's songs.
MCFly frontman DANNY JONES is keen for the group to be recognised for their songwriting talents and refuses to cover old classics.
He says, "We've done lots of cover versions but it's not something we'd do on an album.
"We only really sing them for TV and stuff like that when we get specially asked, but we wouldn't do what Westlife have done and bring out an album.
"We just like to be a band who writes our own stuff. We want to be seen as a proper band like OASIS."
