MCENTIRE'S SOUTHERN DRAWL CAUSED HER TROUBLE IN HONG KONG

Country star REBA MCENTIRE needed an interpreter to converse in English during a recent trip to Hong Kong - because the singer's Oklahoma accent was too strong for others to understand.
The star travelled to the Far East to look for new stage outfits for her forthcoming tour, but her heavy southern drawl made it tough for locals to answer her questions - even though English is one of the official languages of Hong Kong.
She says, "Over in Hong Kong they speak English and Chinese, but they still couldn't understand me.
"I'd go shopping and say, 'How much is that?' Then they'd turn to my assistant and she'd say, 'How much is that?' and they'd say, 'Oh, it's $100'. And I'm like, 'I just said that! Why don't you understand me?'"
