MCDOWELL MISSES BOOZING WITH HOLLYWOOD'S BIG NAMES
Legendary actor MALCOLM MCDOWELL urges Hollywood stars to drink lots of alcohol - because he is convinced it helped his generation's greatest talents climb to the top.
The 64-year-old Heroes star has fond memories of epic drinking sessions with legendary contemporaries, and claims it's an important aspect of being a great actor.
He says, "I'm from a generation of actors that were really great boozers: Richard Harris, Peter O'Toole, Richard Burton, and, in his day, Tony Hopkins.
"If you're an actor, I think (drinking at lunch) is appropriate any day of the week. It's best if you can do it when you're not working."
