MCDOWELL HAS SON TO THANK FOR HEROES ROLE

British actor MALCOLM MCDOWELL almost turned down his role in hit U.S. show HEROES until his son convinced him to take the part. The star plays a crime kingpin in the popular series - but admits he had never heard of the show before he was offered the role. He recalls, "I wasn't following the show when I got the offer but my son said, 'Dad, Heroes is one of the great shows on TV. Which rock have you been hiding under?'"
