MCCOY'S HALL TRACK IS A TRIBUTE TO DEAD COUSIN
TRAVIS MCCOY's new collaboration with his hero DARYL HALL was inspired by the death of his cousin.
The Gym Class Heroes star penned Live Forever (Fly With Me) as a tribute to his relative, who hanged himself after splitting from a girlfriend.
MCCoy says, "I played it (song) for his mother and brother. We cried our eyes out."
The heartfelt track is only one of several MCCoy and Hall have recorded.
The Maneater hitmaker invited the hip-hop star to join him in the studio after hearing he was a big fan.
Hall tells U.S. music magazine Spin, "Travis has a deep understanding of music and is so creative - he did a mash-up record, where he put his songs together with mine. Atlantic (Records) is crazy if they don't release it."
