MCCONAUGHEY CONFUSED AFTER SURFING ACCIDENT

SAHARA star MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY was rescued by a group of Australians after a surfing accident Down Under. The actor was filming FOOL'S GOLD with KATE HUDSON and decided to try out the waves on Queensland's Gold Coast. Another surfer's board accidentally hit him in the head, causing the star to become disoriented. MCConaughey stumbled out of the water and asked some local Australian surfers how to get home - to Malibu, California. One of the surfers asked the him, "Do you know where you are, mate?" The confused star suddenly realised where he was adding, "I thought I was in California. I forgot I was in Australia until you guys talked to me."
